After graduating from Sunderland University with an MSc in Environmental Management, Simon started his professional career as an Operations Manager at Northumbrian Water. He then added an MBA from Durham University to his impressive list of educational achievements.
From the North East, he went on to hold strategic leadership positions in multinational utility companies at home and abroad. As Managing Director of Veolia Environment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Simon managed an annual OPEX budget of $250 million and a $2.5 billion CAPEX programme on behalf of the Saudi government.
A confident people leader, he is equally at home managing vertical and horizontal relationships with private and public sector stakeholders.
